Placement Opportunity in Cambodia / Vanuatu

We are looking to recruit for a joint placement with EWB Australia focusing on Sanitation in Challenging Environments.

A quarter of Cambodia’s population live in more challenging geographical and environmental conditions such as regions prone to flooding, ground water contamination and hard rock areas, where conventional sanitation designs have proven unsuccessful.

Sanitation solutions in Challenging Environments (SCE) has been identified as a niche area of need in the WASH sector. In 2014, Engineers Without Borders Australia, in collaboration with partner organisations in Cambodia, began the SCE initiative to promote knowledge sharing, mobilise sector actors, build capacity of implementing partners and drive innovation to contribute to WASH sector program effectiveness to achieve sanitation access in challenging environments.

EWB Australia and EWB New Zealand have formed a partnership to build on a strong foundation of past experience, partnerships and momentum within the WASH sector around this issue in Cambodia and expand to other countries in the Pacific. This will be supported through several EWB programs, including the SCE initiative and the EWB Challenge 2017. The SCE Project Facilitator and Technical Mentor will work with the current Cambodian based Facilitators to explore the expansion and application of the learnings and knowledge into the Pacific region, as well as support the EWB Challenge program.
